I had a blast in Pueblo and the show was amazing. I sold a couple pieces, a 3D painted object and one of my largest masterpieces, 2021 while setting up the show before the event.
The opening was also great with many more sales and large attendance with much enthusiasm. The participation in the [s]election booth installation was very engaging. I greatly enjoyed reading all of everyone’s ballots.
I held a mock [s]election and used my painted animals as candidates. The choice was between the two major parties represented by Llama and Cape Buffalo. There is a third party I decided to add. I evoked the Ram. Each had their own slogans and style of running things:
Llama: The Best Political Party Animal
Cape Buffalo: For More ‘Same ol’, Same ol’
Ram: Fighter Till The End
I also give people an chance to write in their own candidate if they felt more creative. This along with some multiple choice questions and fill in the blank options.
Among all this I studiously advertised a free print raffle if you fill in your information on the ballot. This along with the staging of the scene with buttons, yard signs, flyers, flags and decorations, I felt the budding joy of creating an interactive installation.
Among all of this, the Truth show opening was spectacular. Co-judging for the Juror’s Choice Award was an honor. The 3rd Eye Carnival was a lot of fun. I got play a solo set with an acoustic and some backing tracks. Then I got to enjoy more music and speakers through the rest of the two day event.
Please contact the gallery if you are interested in any of these pieces while the show is still there.
Thank you Blo Back Gallery and Pueblo, Colorado for an amazing 1st visit.
