Interview with Artists of Houston Podcast

Surrealism Painting

Rhonda Lanclos has taken it upon herself to interview artists around the Washington Ave. Arts District of Houston. This is where hundreds of Houston’s most prolific creators get to work and host events like 2nd Saturday Open Studios of every month and other annual events (like our holiday art party coming up on Dec. 9th, see my calendar at the bottom of the page for more).

I had the pleasure of talking with her about the art life, where it’s going and learned something new about myself in the process. I thought she was going to edit it down to a shorter feature but this turned out to be an uncut interview. It actually plays very well for those who have an attention span that exceeds a goldfish.

The podcast is also free on itunes so you can either go there to listen or go to the episode 4 page where you can stream it or download the audio mp3 file for free as well as listen to all the other amazing artists she has interviewed so far.

Thanks Rhonda for supporting your local arts community in a fun way that no one else is doing!

  1. Hello
I am not sure you are the Vincent Fink I am familiar with but I saw your website and must find out. Was your parent’s names Vincent and Rosa? If so I am thrilled to find you have done so well. You may not remember me and my wife. My name is Gerry Smith and my wife is Nancy Nichols. If you are who I remember please let me know. You were a child when I last saw you. If I am mistaken do not feel that you must respond. If you are I am very sorry to have read about your mother and father.

    1. Dear Gerry,

Great to see you found me. I was always inspired by your artwork. Especially the painting with the man’s hand reaching out of the ocean holding up the earth. It was so surreal. Is there any photos of that or place I can see your work? Anyway, yes, very sad about my father’s early death, and after my mother’s stroke, her aphasia gets a little better over time but now she’s looking like she needs a new liver. Getting old sucks but its a part of life. Hope to hear from you again and I will tell my mother you said hello. She will like that. Thank you for the kind words. Also here’s a blog post about my dad’s passing that you might like: https://www.vincentfink.com/2018/01/27/2018-new-year-new-mind-on-death/
