This exhibition challenges traditional ideas of unity\, exploring the tension between individuality and collectivity\, distinction and cohesion. \nAkarue’s selection process emphasizes contrast over conformity\, assembling a diverse collection of works that reflect the layered identities of artists who have shared the creative spaces of Sawyer Yards — past and present — while maintaining their own distinct visual languages. Rather than suggesting harmony as the resolution to difference\, Wholeness is a myth asks: What if distinction is not an obstacle to wholeness\, but its very foundation? \nBy bringing together artists across generations of the Sawyer Yards community\, this exhibition invites viewers to consider how personal\, cultural\, and artistic identities are shaped through connection. ArtsGoggle presented by Trinity Metro will be held on W. Magnolia Avenue from 8th Avenue to St. Louis Avenue\, occupying 18 city blocks and hosting more than 900 visual artists. This year the ArtsGoggle Main Stage sponsored by Moncrief Cancer Institute | UT Southwestern and supported by Visit Fort Worth and Hear Fort Worth will host 10 performances beginning every hour on the hour. Three large food courts sponsored by Hill Building Group and Moncrief Cancer Institute | UT Southwestern will showcase locally owned and operated food businesses. \nLost ‘N Sound will also take place on Saturday\, October 19 from noon to midnight as an indoor music festival in the Near Southside’s South Main Village district. A feast of art!\nDue to the exciting campus reconstruction and expansion underway at JPS hospital\, this year’s ArtsGoggle will shorten the festival footprint along Magnolia Avenue stretching from 8th Avenue to St. Louis Avenue\, three blocks shorter than previous years to make way for construction needs. So the 2024 ArtsGoggle will be 18 blocks.\nArtsGoggle also hosts artists indoors at participating Near Southside venues such as restaurants\, bars\, offices\, and retailers who are hosting artists\, live music\, and other entertainment in celebration of ArtsGoggle!
