A commemorative mural painted by 13 local artists on the outside wall of our building will be accentuated with interesting wines and music by DJ Sun and Josh Zulu. Support public art and Discovery Green! \nThe Discovery Green Conservancy\, invite guests to dress in white for a casually elegant evening of art\, music\, strolling performances\, photo opportunities\, desserts and the official lighting of the park’s spring public art installation: House of Cards. \nBlanc on the Green\, aimed at the city’s art-loving crowd\, will be a visually\, spectacular event to celebrate the park’s vibrant public art program and role as the heart and soul of downtown Houston. Revelers dressed in their white attire will be stunning against the park’s natural backdrop. DESCRIPTION:Vincent Fink\, a Houston\, TX native and full-time fine artist is self-quarantining inside his Dodecahedron installation on Heights Blvd. This public performance art statement brings awareness to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the art scene and the resulting struggles with mental health caused by Social Distancing. Fink invites the public to responsibly join him for a series of live performances at the 600 block of Heights Blvd.\n\nAfter nearly two months of losing sales\, shows\, and a bit of his sanity\, Vincent decided it was time to turn his life back around and\, like a faucet had been turned on\, work began to pour back in. Now he is planning several performances through the lockdown summer including a “lunch-in” around noon Monday June 1st\, and evening viewings on Friday June 5th and Thursday June 11th both at 6:30pm. More performances are expected to be scheduled accompanied by Facebook\, YouTube\, and Instagram Livestreams for those practicing Social Distancing.\n\nVincent invites Houstonians to join around the Dodecahedron for these “sit-ins”. He encourages attendees to bring a snack\, chair or blanket\, beverages\, and face coverings/masks. Exclusive Fink art printed masks can also be purchased on his website or clothing store: www.point506.com/shop but be aware production time is around 8-10 days and are ship-only.\n\nVincent hopes to convey a different angle to the narrative that is under-represented in the national community: that of a young full-time professional artist/entrepreneur who has experienced the negative effects on not only the economy but also from a mental health perspective. Isolation is a very dangerous place to be. Especially for artists who tend to be sensitive\, deeply in touch with their emotions\, and often detached from society. We ask that you practice social distancing within our buildings and respect tenants that are following city or state guidelines. \nSpend the afternoon wandering through Sawyer Yards’ six studio buildings and discover an extensive selection of painting\, sculpture\, jewelry\, photography\, clothing\, mixed media and more. Meet some of the 350+ artists\, learn about their work and add a new piece to your collection. With an outdoor market\, The Market at Sawyer Yards\, breweries and fitness facilities all around\, it’s easy to spend your entire day at Sawyer Yards on the second Saturday of each month. \nPlease note – Each artist at Sawyer Yards has varying hours of operations.
