DESCRIPTION:We’re proud to present the 4th installment of our Art Can Series Beer Release\, Nature Of Ego & Self Dark Ale. Our Art Can Series features artwork from local artists for each release\, for this new release\, we are proud to feature the artwork of Vincent Fink. Receive a pint glass and 3 beer tickets to try out this new beer for only $12. \nThe artist will be showing off his paintings\, drawings\, and other art around the taproom as we transform the brewery into a gallery of his works. Come out and meet the artist himself and grab the first pints of this new brew! \nShowcased Artist: Vincent Fink’s work is surrealism in it’s purest form. His dark images with warped perspectives invite the viewer into a world that came from a lucid dream in which he observed the completed work. Pushing himself to recreate something that was beyond his imagination and skill in his waking life\, Vincent has used this inspiration to develop the Metamorphosis Project\, a concept that continues to spawn the hidden messages of his dreams. \nIteration 18: Nature Of Ego & Self\nThis piece explores a Magritte inspired design while incorporating a fine distinction of philosophical imagery. The faces serve almost as a split of ego (or by some viewers\, perhaps even male and female energy) in us all. The tree is a symbol of growth\, development and connection with nature’s process. The only geometric element tying it to the rest of the series is the box. The hexahedron\, which represents earth/ground\, seems quite subtle but for this reason it can be held as a symbol of personal compartmentalization that we must break out of\, much like a seed. It appears like a chunk of flesh\, a piece of ourselves from which we separate.

DESCRIPTION:With nearly 500 original works from more than 250 local artists\, Art on the Avenue is Houston’s ultimate “buy local” fundraiser. Now in its 21st year\, the event has grown to become the city’s largest silent charity art auction\, benefitting the community revitalization efforts of non-profit community development organization Avenue\, which in the aftermath of Harvey\, have become more important than ever. Not only does each art purchase support Avenue’s mission to build affordable homes and strengthen communities – it also gives back to Houston’s thriving arts community and the artists who make the event possible. \nArt on the Avenue is comprised of two signature evenings. The VIP Preview Party on Thursday\, Nov. 9 gives guests an exclusive “first look” and opportunity to bid on the artwork prior to the main Auction and Party on Saturday\, Nov. 11. \nThis year’s Art on the Avenue Preview Party again includes art-inspired bites from local culinary artisans\, which have been curated by PaperCity’s Jailyn Marcel. \nEllie Sweeney and Jessica Pierce are Preview Party hosts.\nPaul R.
